Great climb event rules explenation
Rules:
1. The use Tier Damage Legendary is banned
2. The Max total base damage allowed is 200!
3. You may use any captain
If you want to use a captain but its rank is to high there is the RESETRANK(captain name in caps) command you can type in the alliance tab
4. You run must be at least 10 waves above current best and no more than 100 runs above it
Current best will be announced by moderators in random intervals so you will never know wen it will be.
Any runs that do not fit within the range of the current best will not be valid
5. Runs can not be longer than 1 hour
6. To win your run must last until the end of the event!
7. Your ship must be able to break blocks
8. You can not start more than 15% of the way from current best!
Rule 7 and 8 are here to avoid people cheesing the event with skip wave ships that dont even shoot
9. Starting wave for the event is 3000
10. must post in #event-submissions as a thread following the next format: Great-Climb-[Your discord server username]
Anti-cheese system:
1. Posting within the last 24 hours of the event will apply a 24 hour wait penalty in wich anyone can beat u
2. If someone beats you in the penalty they have to wait 1 less total hour 23 in this case
this system is in place to avoid people posting last second and winning because of that
how it works:
if someone posts a valid run within 24 hours of the end of the event they will have to way 24 hours to be declared the winner during this time people can try to beat them even if the event ends
if someone beats them they will now have to wait 23 hours and if someone beats them they will have to wait 22 hours and so on until they have to wait 1 hour!
wen it reaches 1 hour next person to beat them will automatically win!
To avoid this my tip is to get the event to a spot where its hard to beat you.
Win conditions:
1. fastest time
2. furdest wave within the range
Speed will always win unless the buffer system is applied!
so basically how this works?
Player A: wave 3010 in 40 seconds
Player B: Wave 3100 in 10 minutes
Winner is Player A
Buffer system:
1. each wave above current best will add a 0.5 second buffer up to a 50 second buffer!
2. highest wave within the buffer wins!
Every wave you have above the current best will give you a 0.5 second buffer example
10 waves above current best = 5 second buffer and 100 waves above will give you a 50 second buffer
example:
Player A: Wave 3010 in 1 minute
PlayerB: Wave 3100 in 1 minute and 51 seconds
Player C: Wave 3040 in 1 minute and 20 seconds
Player C will win because of the 20 second buffer! that is applied since Player B didnt respect the 50 second buffer!
How to calculate Buffer between players:
Player 1 - Player 2 = player 2
example
50 second buffer - 40 second buffer = 10 second buffer
so if
player 1: wave 3100 in 50 seconds
player 2: wave 3090 in 41 seconds
player 1 wins
buf if
player 1: wave 3100 in 50 seconds
player 2: wave 3090 in 40 seconds
player 2 wins
Stale mate system:
1. its considered wen a run lasts 20 hours without beeing beaten
2. 10 wave minimum rule is ignored
3. buffer system is off
4. fastest time will win!
If the event reaches a point where it is impossible to progress only time will be considered
